Name |
Notes |
|
Tom Brady |
Brady had a tremendous season in 2007 and has great upside but he's
a big risk, not what you want with your starting QB. |
|
Peyton Manning |
176 straight starts, over 4,000 in 9 of his last 10 seasons, over 26
passing TDs in 11 straight seasons. |
|
Drew Brees |
3 straight good seasons with New Orleans but very unlikely to repeat
last year. |
|
David Garrard |
Missed his starting LG, C and RG in 2007; much better once Meester
came back; addition of Holt will help |
|
Tony Romo |
Romo has been consistent in his first 3 seasons but TDs could drop
without Owens. |
|
Aaron Rodgers |
Rodgers was great in his first year as a starter but can't really
see him improve in many categories; very safe pick however. |
|
Donovan McNabb |
McNabb played all 16 games last year but it was the first time since
2003 he was able to do that. |
|
Kurt Warner |
Cardinals probably won't pass as much as last year and Warner is a
risk with Leinart behind him. |
|
Philip Rivers |
He had a breakout season in 2008 but his TD/A and Y/A will for sure
drop |
|
Matt Schaub |
Averaged 280 pass yards in the 18 full games he played in the past 2
seasons but has not been able to stay healthy |
|
Jay Cutler |
It is very hard to predict how a QB will perform with a new team
especially when he has little talent at WR |
|
Matt Cassel |
Thigpen had success with this team in 2007, Cassel is a much better
QB; he could surprise in the Todd Haley offense. |
|
Ben Roethlisberger |
He had a career year in 2007 and a tough year stats wise in 2008.
Expect him to bounce back slightly in 2009. |
|
Trent Edwards |
Bills added Owens, have a much improved o-line and Edwards is
entering his 3rd season; he could have a big breakout year. |
|
Jason Campbell |
Campbell has slowly improved in the past two seasons. Could he
breakout like Rivers in his 5th season? |
|
Eli Manning |
Very consistent but not spectacular, common belief is he struggled
without Burress last year but stats show otherwise |
|
Jake Delhomme |
He made a successful return in 2008 and is a pretty safe bet this
year but he's on a run first team. |
|
Carson Palmer |
Palmer was a top 10 QB for 3 straight years until last year; has an
improved o-line and 2 very good WRs but still a big risk |
|
Chad Pennington |
Pennington won't be a top fantasy QB with this offense and he's
still an injury risk. |
|
Shaun Hill |
Hill was tremendous in his 9 starts last year and could be a big
sleeper, if he wins the starting job. |
|
Kyle Orton |
Orton was pretty successful considering the weapons he had in 2007;
McDaniels worries us as a head coach. |
|
Matt Ryan |
QBs typically improve in 2nd season but his yards per attempt can't
improve much and Atlanta remains a run first team. |
|
Joe Flacco |
Very impressive in his first season and should see improvement in
yards per attempt and TDs per attempt |
|
Matt Hasselbeck |
Last season was an anomaly with all the injuries to WRs. This year
he has Housh and Branch. |
|
Brett Favre |
Favre is coming back from an injury, is on a pass-first team and is
not a running threat. |
|
Marc Bulger |
He struggled in the past two years but he is still talented and
could have a bounce back year in a new offense. |
|
JaMarcus Russell |
Russell can only improve over last year but he hasn't shown much to
get excited about in his first 2 years. |
|
Brady Quinn |
This will be a run-first team and Quinn has to beat out Anderson for
the starting job |
|
Kerry Collins |
Titans never had more than 0.034 TD per pass attempt in last 4
years; Young will compete with Collins. |
